My Creative Sketches - April Challenge

Hello Friends! It's sketch challenge time again over at My Creative Sketches.

Firstly check out the fun sketch we get to play with this month...
http://mycreativesketches.blogspot.ca/2014/04/april-sketch.html

And here is my take on the sketch...

As I'm sure you noticed I decided to rotate the sketch this month. I left the cluster of layers around the photo in the same spot, but I had my strips of paper go horizontal rather than vertical.

I loved the banner in the sketch so I added a smaller one on my layout and used it to underline my title.

On my layout I used the Splendid Sunshine collection from Echo Park. Some tags from Elle's Studio and some flair from Paper Play Studio.

I hope you will consider playing along with our challenge this month for a chance to win this amazing prize or to be featured on the MCS blog! For all the details on how to play along check out the My Creative Sketches post here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Elle's Studio Thursday Sketch Challenge!

Merry Christmas Friends! I got to create the inspiration layout for the SKETCH THURSDAY Challenge at Elle's Studio this week! I used almost all of the tags as well as the stamp set from the Be Merry Collection by Elle's Studio.

My layout is based on this sketch which was inspired by the super cool Christmas frame that Kay made. You can check it out here.
Here are a few close ups so you can checkout all the fun tags going on!

Head on over to Elle's sketch blog post and leave a comment or link up your take on the sketch by Dec 26th  for your chance to win a $10 GC at Elle's Studio

I think this will probably be my last post of the year so I hope you  have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

All the best in 2013!

Elle's Studio December Gallery

I'm sad to say that this is my last gallery as part of the Elle's Studio DT. I absolutely loved being a part of this team and I am so thankful I got the opportunity to be a part of it. I just wish it could go on longer.

This months gallery features the Be Merry Tags! and I've got a lot of photos to share with you so let's get started...

My first layout is about my family's Pickle ornament tradition. I have wanted to scrapbook this layout for years and I am so glad I finally got the opportunity. Elle's tags worked perfectly! I want to take the time to scrapbook more of our holiday traditions, both new and old!

My second layout is of my son's first Christmas experience. Like most little kids, he was far more interested in the paper and boxes than in what was inside them...he was so cute with the little bow on his head as he crumpled up all the paper!

Finally I made a fun layout of this great photo I took of my kids wrapped up in the Christmas lights. I tried a few new things on this layout like machine stitching the vellum circles onto the page, heat embossing on the photo, and using sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my layouts. Make sure you stop by Elle's Studio and pick yourself up some of these fun Christmas tags!

Happy Ho Ho Ho to you!

Elle's Studio: November Gallery

The November DT Gallery is up at Elle's Studio and there is a whole bunch of fabulous inspiration for you to check out. You can find it all HERE.

My first two projects I have to share with you I created using the Spooky Tales collection.

I just LOVE fall! I love the warm, sunny days, crisp leaves, pumpkins, Halloween, and the pics on this layout just make me smile.

here are a few close ups of the details...

I clustered a bunch of pennants together to make this embellishment feature in the corner.

This large circle tag worked perfectly for this layout. It created a space to journal and it gave me my title.

Next is a layout of my son on his first Halloween. He was the cutest little dragon and definitely too cute to spook! I used the new Witch Hazel line from October Afternoon for the papers, and the background paper is from Woodland Park by OA.

and some close ups...

I clustered at little circle tag and a pennant together

Below the title I used this Lil Snippits tag to add the date and a quick note.

My last project is a fun little card and I used the digital Everyday Greetings to create the sentiment.

I just love these digital printables! You can print them any size you want to suit your project! The ones I used worked so well with the Cakewalk papers from October Afternoon.

Well that is all I have to share from Elle's Studio this month. Make sure you stop by the DT Gallery and see what my fellow team members have created.

Have a great day!

WORLD CARD DAY!!!

Hello Friends!
Thank you so much for stopping by to spend part of your World Card Day with me. I hope you can find some inspiration here today.

Today I am celebrating World Card Day with a new digital kit from Elle's Studio...

introducing Everyday Greetings!
This is a fabulous 2 page download with greetings you can cut out and use on your cards! They are SO awesome with bright colors and modern shapes and designs.
AND THE BEST PART IS
you can get this awesome kit on special for only $2
 all this WEEKEND!!!
What a better way to celebrate World Card Day!

I'd like to share a few cards with you that I made using this kit.

This first card was so super quick to make. I layered strips of decorative tape on a a white card base, splattered a little black ink, added a tag from the Everyday Greetings kit and popped on a few stickers and some twine for texture.

My second card is even more simple.

I embossed the white paper and added some black paint spatters. Then I simply popped up a tag from the Everyday Greetings kit in the center of the card. I added a few glittery stickers and a button with a bow tied through it as a finishing touch.

and here is a quick close up so you can see the embossed background.

AND THE EVEN BETTER PART IS...

I get to give away one Everyday Greetings kit today!!!!

Leave me a comment on this post for your chance to win!
I'll be drawing one lucky winner tomorrow night (Sunday, October 7th at 8:00 pm PST)! So make sure you check back to see if you've won!

If you don't win one, don't forget to download your own Everyday Greetings HERE!
