Happy Halloween!

My son's name is Sullivan, named after James P. Sullivan from Monster's Inc. so this year for his Halloween costume, we dressed him as his namesake ;)

And what would Sully be without Mike?...so I painted a pumpkin to look like Sully's one eyed buddy.

how's the resemblance?

Now that's the cutest little monster I've ever seen!!!

I can't wait to get the chance to scrapbook these cute shots!

Have a Spooktacular day!

Sketchabilities: Sketch 78

I get to share the new sketch challenge from Sketchabilities with you today. First off, here is the layout I created based on the sketch...

And here is the sketch we are playing with...

I've got a few close ups of my layout to share with you.

I made this layout of my daughter and her cousins jumping on the bed during a sleep over.
The photos had so many bright colours, I wasn't sure what papers to use at first, but then I came across this paper from my My Minds Eye stash and it was perfect! It's pretty bright, but it suits the photos and the theme of the layout perfectly!

You have until November 13th to link up your layout HERE for your chance at a great prize and to be featured on the Sketchabilities blog.

I look forward to seeing what you create with the inspiration sketch.
Have a great day

My girl is FAMOUS!!!

I got this new die from Lifestyle Crafts called Build a Monster from my DT at Scrapy Land. When it arrived, I knew right away the person who was going to LOVE to play around with this die...my daughter Olivia.

She dove right in and created two cards right away. Susan who keeps the Scrapy Land blog running and organized was so kind as to post Olivia's cards on the blog!  Livi was SO EXCITED! Susan even made her, her very own watermark for her photo.

I know she would love it if you stopped by her post HERE and left her some comment love.

SOUS Card Sketch: Oct 17-Nov 6

I have a card sketch to share with you today.
This one is the latest challenge at Stuck on U Sketches...

And here is my take on the sketch...

I love this Everyday Eclectic line from Echo park. The big swing tag made a perfect element for the focus of the card and I used buttons as the embellishments going up the side of the sketch.

The lace ribbon was actually white, but I used a Copic marker to color it so it would match my card and I was quite happy with the results.

To create the sentiment I used letter stickers from the Everyday Eclectic kit and the 'celebrate' stamp is from Unity/{ippity}.

You have until November 6th to link up your card HERE for the chance of being in our Top 3!
I hope you'll play along.

Have a great day!

My Creative Sketches: October Sketch

Hooray for sketch release day!! Today I get to share the new October sketch from My Creative Sketches with you. This months challenge is brought to you by Kim Keane...

And here is my take on the sketch....

I have had this line of Christmas papers from Basic Grey forever and I've never used any of it, so I figured I'd break into it.

I used these cute little Christmas lights I got from the dollar store  a loooong time ago. I've never used them either, but I guess that is why I hold on to everything...one day you might need it :)

Another older item I dug out of my stash was these snowflakes printed on acetate from Heidi Swapp. I love using up old stuff!

I cut out one of the little ornaments from the patterned paper and popped it up to give some dimension, but it might be a bit difficult to see in this pic.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you'll join us by linking up your layouts HERE. You have until November 14th to play along.

Have a great day

Sketchabilities: Sketch 77

It's sketch debut day at Sketchabilities! Here is the latest sketch challenge...
And my take on the sketch...

The misted chevrons in the background don't show up very well in the photo, but they are more visible in real life.

I used a watermelon die from Lifestyle Crafts as the letter 'A'

I turned the large circle from the sketch into a watermelon, with slices of different colors of red paper. I built it up on chipboard to give it some dimension.

Supplies used: Patterned Papers-Sassafrass, Crate Paper, American Crafts, My Minds Eye; Cardstock-American Crafts; Washi tape-My Minds Eye; Flair-October Afternoon; Watermelon die-Lifestyle Crafts; Tab-American Crafts; Mist-Glimmer Mists; Stencil-Crafters Workshop; Letter Stickers-Basic Grey; Misc-corner, buttons, polka dot ribbon, embroidery floss.

I started and changed this layout 4 times! I had something TOTALLY different in mind when I started but after the 4th change I ended up with this.  For some reason this sketch was quite a challenge for me. I haven't actually decided if I like the final product yet, but it is done, and maybe it will grown on me over time.

I would love it if you joined us in our challenge. Link up your project HERE for your chance to win an awesome prize and to be featured on the Sketchabilities blog!  You have until October 28th to play along.

Have a great day

My second card is even more simple.

I embossed the white paper and added some black paint spatters. Then I simply popped up a tag from the Everyday Greetings kit in the center of the card. I added a few glittery stickers and a button with a bow tied through it as a finishing touch.

and here is a quick close up so you can see the embossed background.

AND THE EVEN BETTER PART IS...

Spooky Tales from Elle's Studio

Last week Elle's Studio released their new line of Halloween/Thankful/Fall tags called Spooky Tales and yesterday the October Design Team Gallery went live to show off what our team created with these fun tags.  Today I am going to show you my projects up close and personal

My first layout is of photos from a few years ago. I have lots of Halloween pictures but I always get behind on scrapping them. This layout is about the Halloween party we held at the After School Program I used to work at.

This layout was really fun to create! I went a little silly with the googly eyes. I had some HUGE googly eyes that were the same size as the large dots on the background paper so I attached a few of them there, and also added some more eyes to 'O' in the 'Halloween' title and on the pull-out journaling spot.

I added a few layers of black tulle under the layers of paper to give it some spookiness, dimension and texture.

a few circle tags from Spooky Tales Tidbits...

Happy Halloween tag from the Spooky Tales Pennants...

the large 'Halloween' tag from Spooky Tales Large Journaling tags...

and the 'these are the details' tag from Spooky Tales 3x4 Note Tags

For my second layout I went with more of a fall theme. These pics are of my son from last fall. He loved the great big pumpkins!

The papers in the Simple Stories Harvest Lane collection were perfect for this layout. I love the homey feel they have and I liked that the one paper kind of looked like a quilt and Sully is sitting on a quilt in the photos.

I layered one of Elle's tags (orange chevron) with a manila tag and some of the Harvest lane stickers to create my title block.

an Elle's tag from Spooky Tales Thankful Pennants for the date...

I took the sticker from the Harvest Lane sticker sheet and altered it for this page. I cut a small circle out of burlap and put it on the sticker and then layered one of the Spooky Tales Tidbits on top.

My final project was the one I shared a sneak peak of during our hop last week...

I made a dry erase frame! Did you know that you can write on glass with dry erase markers?! Thank you Pinterest for that little tip.

I thought it would be nice to have a frame for a Thanksgiving decoration where you could write on it what you are thankful for that year.

The best part is, it is reusable! You could keep it up all year round to remind you and your family to be thankful, or you can just bring it out each Thanksgiving and change what you write on it...

you could even add the date!

And here is what it looks like when it is blank.

To make this I just simply attached one of the Large Journaling Tags onto some burlap and added a few of the Spooky Tales Pennants. Then I slipped it into the frame. The flower sticker embellishments are actually on top of the glass so that it wouldn't be to fat inside the frame.

PRIZE ALERT!!! If you are interested, I am giving away this dry erase frame on my FB page Becky's Custom Papercrafting Creations.  Just follow this link, like my FB page, and comment for your chance to win. I'll be drawing a winner on Friday October 5th

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my projects!
