My Creative Scrapbook: Jan Guest Designer

I am on the DT for My Creative Sketches, but I was excited and honored to be asked to be a guest designer in January for the My Creative Scrapbook kit team. When this gorgeous kit showed up at my door I couldn't wait to get started creating!

The January Main Kit

I have three layouts to share with you today...

On this layout I used a technique I pinned awhile back but hadn't had the chance to use yet. You might be surprised, but it is really easy to make your own chevrons! Make sure you check out the My Creative Scrapbook blog this month. I will share with you how it is done.

I loved the little chipboard stickers with the days of the week on them. They were the inspiration for this layout.

The letter stickers didn't show up as well as I would have liked on the patterned paper so I used a fine point brown marker to trace around them.

For this layout I loved the banner sticker included in the kit. It was a bit too long for the space I had on the layout, so I just trimmed off a few flags.

The 'Love you' sticker was perfect for these photos of my daughter with her new kitten...she was definitely in love.

I fussy cut the paper flowers out of one of the patterns in the kit and used dimensional adhesive to pop them up.

I'm loving these border stickers in the kit too! The look awesome, and you don't have to go dig out your edge punches.

I'm really loving how this last layout turned out. I layered a bunch of the fun chipboard elements.

The blue tag was kind of plain, so I layered the leaf sticker across it. And  I love this huge green chipboard flower.

I gave the old sewing machine a workout, I think I stitched almost everything down on all three of these layouts.

I tied a knot in the tag with the pretty sheer green ribbon included in the kit.

The flowers in the kit come with pearl centers, but I didn't really feel like they fit the style of my layout, so I pulled the pearl off carefully and saved it for another project, and I added one of the buttons from the kit to the center.

So there you have it...

If the Main Kit isn't your style, check out these other kits that are available this month...

Guest Designer at OCS!

I am so thrilled to be one of the guest designers at One Crazy Stamper blog this month! They have a great Canadian store and for all my Canadian friends, really great prices on Copics!

I am loving 6x6 paper pads right now! especially for cards since the patterns are scaled down from the regular 12x12 size and it makes them just perfect! I used two different 6x6 pads for my OCS cards today.

The other thing I am loving are the Lulu stamps from Kraftin Kimmie! This little chick is soooooo adorable, I want all of her images. They carry the Lulu stamps and many others from Kraftin Kimmie in the OCS store, you should check 'em out! I used the Lulu set called Lulu on the Move.

First up I used the Fabulous 6x6 pad from Simple Stories
OCS product used: Copics- skin: E000, E00, E11, R20. hair: E31, E33, E35, E37, BG10, BG11, BG13. skates: R81, R83, C0, C1, C3. ground: W00, W1, W3. outline: BG0000 Lulu Stamps: Lulu on the Move; Simple Stories Fabulous 6x6 paper pad (FAB2101) This & That Graceful Asst Brads (THG27020) Buttons Asst Pink (SE026F) Maya Road Twine Pink Lemonade (TC2054) Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (M900) Scor Pal Tape 1/8 (201) Scor Pal Tape 1/4 (202) Glue Dots 3/16 Mini Sheet; Small 3D Foam Squares (01612) Large 3D Foam Squares (01610) Misc products used: Photo corners, Amy Tangerine/AC ribbon, doodlebug border sticker.

I stamped Lulu right on to one of the little journaling spots that comes in the SS 6x6 pad. I wasn't sure how my Copics would color on that paper, but it turned out really good I think. I used the tiny patterns from the pad to paperpiece her dress.
For my second card I used the What's Up 6x6 pad from Basic Grey.

OCS product used: Copics- skin: E000, E00, E11, R20. hair: E31, E33, E35, E37, BG10, BG11, BG13. shoes: BG10, BG11, BG13, hoop: BV00, BV02, BV04. ground: W00, W1, W3, W5; Lulu Stamps: Lulu on the Move; Basic Grey What’s Up 6x6 paper pad (WHA3713) Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (M900) Scor Pal Tape 1/8 (201) Scor Pal Tape 1/4 (202) Glue Dots 3/16 Mini Sheet; Misc products: buttons, photo corners, circle punch

I'm really happy with how this one came together. Again, I paperpieced her dress, and I'm just loving the little banners! That and the hoola-hoop really give this card a party feel!
Well, that's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Every Saturday I can head out to our local market (which is only half a block from my house) and get my cupcake fix. Don't tell my mom, but sometimes I even have one for a special weekend breakfast ;)

I hope my card puts a bit of a smile on your face today. If you want any of the fun bits and pieces I used to make this card please head on over to the One Crazy Stamper store where you can get them all! Here are a few of the items that I used...

The other item that I used on this card are my Copic markers. I have purchased almost all of my Copic markers from OCS. They have such great prices! You should REALLY check them out (especially my Canadian friends).

Got {ippity} with Maria Levine Blog Hop

The oh so sweet Maria Levine; {ippity} chick, chose me to be her Guest Designer for the month of June. Maria is one of a select group of ladies who sell the exclusive line of {ippity} stamps by Unity Stamp. Co. If you are interested in buying any of the great {ippity} stamp sets, she's your chick! Check out her FB page "GOT {ippity}" HERE.

Maria kindly sent me a wonderful {ippity} prize pack for being her Guest Designer. Unfortunately the mail system did not cooperate and I didn't get it in time to use the stamps she sent on these cards. Luckily for me I already own quite a few {ippity} stamp sets and so I was able to make my cards for this hop.

Anyways, summer is upon us and why not get in the summer mood by making some cards Here is my first card. I used the cardabilities sketch #56 for the layout. I think I like how this one came together.
Supplies used: Stamps: {ippity} by Unity Stamp Co.; Patterned Papers: Simple Stories; Cardstock: Bazzill, Xpress It; Sentiment Sticker: Simple Stories; Twine: The Twinery; Button: Stampin Up; Markers: Copics E31, E33, BG0000, BG000, BG00, BG01, Y21, YG03; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Misc: Brads.
My second card is made with the same papers as the first. I fussed around with this card for a looong time, and I'm still not sure that I love it, but I got it done! lol
Supplies used: Stamps: {ippity} by Unity Stamp Co.; Patterned Papers: Simple Stories; Cardstock: Bazzill; Scallop border sticker: Doodlebug; Embossing Powder: American Crafts; Cloud Punch: Fiskars; Misc: Buttons, dimensional adhesive.
The sentiment was actually longer than this, but I didn't want to use all the words so I cut the sentiment up and used only the bits that I wanted.

Finally I used one of my favorite lines right now Dear Lizzy Neapolitan by AC for my last card.

Stamps sets I used for these cards...
