Memories Captured

I've been playing with my box of goodies from Fancy Pants Designs and today I have a few projects to share with you that I made using the Memories Captured collection.

I made a layout of some of the faces that my little man used to make when he was a little baby. He was always so frowny and grumpy looking. I was so happy when he outgrew that phase as he is a happy little guy now!

I just love the chalk labels they are so fun! I used my Milky Way White Galaxy Marker to do the write lettering on my label.

On my card I brightened it up by bringing in some of the peachy/pinks that are in this collection.

The card came together really quickly since I used on of the chalkboard themed spots as the centerpiece. Some stickers and a few die cut stars finished it off :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today to check out my Memories Captured projects.

Have a great day!

What a WONDERFUL DAY!

ooh, ooh, ooh! So much fun playing with this wonderful line from Fancy Pants Designs called What a Wonderful Day!

I made a layout of my first ultrasound photo that I got a few weeks back. This is the first scrapbook page for this little one. I never scrapbooked any ultrasound pics from my other two kiddos so this is a great start!

We were really excited to find out what we were having this time around after waiting until 'D-day' with our other two. Unfortunately this baby has another plan in mind. I guess they are playing shy because the ultrasound tech's haven't been able to see the gender.

I also whipped up a quick card with this fun collection and threw in a cloud (that I punched out of some of the white corrugated paper) and one of the cool new cork shapes!

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Wedding card and Fancy Pants Designs CHA sneak peaks!

Hello friends!

I must admit I've been a bit neglectful of my blog recently, I guess the summer days just get away from me.

Anyways, today I have a sweet wedding card to share with you. A friend asked me to make this special card for a wedding she was attending. Originally when she mentioned the color scheme to me I was a bit stumped, but then I realized that the colors she was looking for were all in the Trend Setter collection from Fancy Pants Designs!!!

If you leave out the bright red and the dark navy from the collection, the remaining colors are quite soft and pretty and worked perfectly for a wedding card!

She also asked for there to be owls on the card so I cut these cute little lovebirds (Design ID 38374) out on my Silhouette.

I layered the owls with doilies and lace trim to give the card a romantic feel and of course just HAD to add some hearts and flowers!!!

...

Now I have a little sneak peak to share with you of the new collections that Fancy Pants Designs will be debuting at this summers CHA in Vegas! I've never been lucky enough to attend CHA but this is the first year that I will have projects displayed at the show! I hope you'll stop by the FPD booth and check them out!

First up we have the awesome Collecting Moments collection! I love the navy blue in this line and I am super excited about the new products from Fancy Pants Designs like the larger tags and ticket rolls! You can check out more details of this collection here

Next we have the adorable Happy Go Lucky Collection. This one is so fun! I am loving the little bits in the ephemera pack! You can check out more details of this collection here

And last but not least there is this adorable Christmas collection called Merry Little Christmas. I just love the colors in this line!  You can check out more details of this collection here

I hope you enjoyed your little sneak peak into Fancy Pants Designs new Summer CHA collections! Make sure you stop by the FPD blog and comment on each of the sneak peak posts for your chance to WIN!!!

Have a great day!

Growing in Unity Day 4

Holy Cow! This week is going by so fast, but I am having a GREAT time!!!

Thanks again for all the kind comments on my posts, they are so sweet and so greatly appreciated :)

Today I have a card that is a little different to share with you....lots and lots of embossing! both heat and dry.

I heat embossed the clouds with white embossing powder onto blue patterned paper.  The base of the card is dry embossed with little triangles. Check out the close up photo for more details.

The clouds and the sentiment are from the same Kit of the Month as the purse card from yesterday. It is called Take Time to Laugh. To finish off the card I just kept it simple and added some orange twine and buttons. Sweet and simple ;)

 and now...

PRIZE TIME!! 2 CHANCES TO WIN!!!
I'm giving away a little blog candy! I have a Leopard Print embossing folder from Darice and the Memories 6x6 paper pad from Teresa Collins to give away to 1 lucky friend who comments on my blog this week!
AND Unity is generously giving away 2 Itty Bitties of your choice to a commenter on my blog this week. So make sure you stop by daily and leave a comment for more chances to win!!!

SOUS card sketch challenge: April 3-16

I'm playing along with the Stuck on U Sketches card sketch challenge...

All of the items I used on my card are from the Down by the Shore collection from Fancy Pants Designs.

I hand embroidered the sunshine onto the card. It might look time consuming but it only took 20 minutes. To do it, I sketched out the sun lightly in pencil. I then pierced holes along the lines. Once I pierced all the holes I erased the pencil lines before embroidering with the yellow thread.

Here is the sketch we are playing along with this time around...

I hope you'll play along with the challenge for your chance to be featured on the SOUS blog as one of the Top 3! You can link up your card here by April 16th.

Thanks for stopping by today,
~Becky

Color Us Lucky: Turquoise/Lime Challenge

I'm on double duty today, so if you are looking for my Stuck on U Sketches card post just scroll down, or click here.

It's week 3 of Color Us Lucky month on the Scrapy Land blog.

This week, Amber has given us a challenge to play with Turquoise and Lime!!!

Turquoise, Aqua, Teal...is there a difference? I can never tell, I think I mix these colors up all the time!

Anyways, I had fun using my new Greeting Farm stamp and these bright colors on my card today.

I've got a sneak peek to share with you today. If you would like to see the whole card and all the details please head on over to my post on the Scrapy Land blog.

SOUS card sketch: March 20-April 2

We on the SOUS design team have a new card sketch challenge to share with you today.

First take a look at my card...

And here is the sketch we are playing with; designed  by Sandi Clarkson.

As you can see I altered the sketch somewhat. I used one pattern down the sides of my card and another down the middle, similar to the sketch but I made them stripes instead of triangles. I interpreted the criss-cross shape with my twine by wrapping it and criss-crossing it around the center of my card.

I also switched around the sentiment and the flower from what the sketch shows too. I think that is the great thing about sketches...your final product doesn't need to look exactly like the sketch, the sketch is just there to inspire you to get creating!

Papers, stickers are from Echo Park. Stamp from Echo Park/Unity Stamps. Twine from The Twinery. Misc flowers and buttons.

I hope you are ready to get creating and will play along with our challenge for your chance to be featured on the SOUS blog as one of our Top 3! For all the details and to link up your card head on over to the SOUS blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
reading your kind comments makes my day.
~Becky

p.s. whoops! I forgot to share this on Friends with Flair Friday at Unity Stamps...so I'm sharing it this week :)

SOUS card sketch: Mar 6-19

Happy Wednesday!

It is sketch release day at Stuck on U Sketches. I am excited to share my card with you this time because I have been on a creative roll lately and got ahead on a bunch of DT assignments so this card has been done for awhile and I am happy to finally get to share it with you.

Before I get to the sketch let me share my take on it...

This time around our sketch was created by the lovely Sandi Clarkson.

I colored this precious cupcake from Unity Stamps with my Copic markers. I have been dying to try this dotty technique around the image that I have seen on so many stamped images lately, and I LOVE the look...it's super easy too!

I added some Stickles to the cupcake to make it sparkle, and Glossy Accents to the cherry to make it shiny.

I finished off the card with some buttons, punched some hearts out of corrugated paper (I love the dimension and texture this gives) and tied the bow around my sentiment since there is a bow in the sketch. I used a copic marker to trace around the word 'cupcakes' in my sentiment to make it stand out.

Well, that is it for me today. If you just came across my post I hope you'll head on over to the SOUS blog to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch.

I will also be submitting this card for Friends with Flair Friday at Unity Stamps.

If you want to play along for your chance at being featured on the SOUS blog as on of our TOP 3, link up your project here by March 19th.

Thanks for stopping by,
I love to read your kind comments
