Growing in Unity Day 5

Well, my week of Growing in Unity has come to an end :( I had such an amazing week and I am so thankful for all the kind words left on my posts.

So what better way to finish off the week but with a little celebration!

CHEERS!!!

I love all the wine stamps from Unity!!! I don't even drink, but I think they make great cards for giving away to others!

You can't really tell from the photos but I used glossy accents over the glasses to make them look real.

For the sentiment I used the Let's Get Tipsy itty bitty. The wine glasses are from a different wine itty bitty called Wine and Friends

and now, since my week is over I have just one more little treat to share with you.

There is not a whole lot of stamping going on with this card, but the sentiment is from Unity so I thought I'd share...

The sentiment is from the Happily Ever After Kit of the Month that I also used for my Monday cards.

The papers, buttons, and chipboard sticker are from October Afternoon, and I just HAD to use my new lace with the zipper detail from Close to My Heart! Isn't it fabulous?!?!? They only sell it in this pink color, but I hope they make it in all the colors cause I would definitely buy them ALL!!!

and now one final reminder about the PRIZES!!!

2 CHANCES TO WIN!!!
I'm giving away a little blog candy! I have a Leopard Print embossing folder from Darice and the Memories 6x6 paper pad from Teresa Collins to give away to 1 lucky friend who comments on my blog this week!
AND Unity is generously giving away 2 Itty Bitties of your choice to a commenter on my blog this week. So make sure you stop by daily and leave a comment for more chances to win!!!

I will be announcing the winners of both prizes on Monday so please check back to see if it is YOU!!!
Thanks so much for sharing this week with me,
~Becky

Growing in Unity Day 3

Wow, Wednesday already?!? My Growing in Unity week is half way over :(

It has been so great reading all of the kind comments you have left for me. Please know that I read each and every one of them and I really appreciate your sweet words.

Today I have a fresh, fun and funky card that you could give your best friend. It would be great for a birthday card, hello, or just because.

The purses and the sentiment are both from an old Unity KOM from 2010 called Take Time to Laugh. I belonged to the KOM club for about a year and I absolutely LOVED it! I only stopped for financial reasons, but I would start up again in a heartbeat if I could. If you don't know about the Kit of the Month club you should check it out!!!

This is made with a color combo that is not typical for me, in fact I don't think I've ever used it before, but I think I really like how it came together.

anyways...

PRIZE TIME!! 2 CHANCES TO WIN!!!

Growing in Unity Day 1

Happy Monday Friends!

To say that I am excited to be a Growing in Unity gal is week would be an absolute understatement!!! For those of you who are regulars to my blog you know I am a HUGE Unity fan so getting to play with my large collection of Unity Stamps this week is going to be awesome :)

I'm starting off the week with a two-for. I couldn't decide if I wanted to make a Baby Boy card or a Baby Girl card with this adorable Ark stamp so I ended up making both.

I have had this Itty Bitty set called Two by Two for quite a while but I hadn't got around to using it yet so it felt good to get it inked up.

The sentiment that comes with the Ark image didn't really suit my card so I used a different one from the July 2010 Kit of the Month 'Happily Ever After'

SOUS card sketch: Mar 6-19

Happy Wednesday!

It is sketch release day at Stuck on U Sketches. I am excited to share my card with you this time because I have been on a creative roll lately and got ahead on a bunch of DT assignments so this card has been done for awhile and I am happy to finally get to share it with you.

Before I get to the sketch let me share my take on it...

This time around our sketch was created by the lovely Sandi Clarkson.

I colored this precious cupcake from Unity Stamps with my Copic markers. I have been dying to try this dotty technique around the image that I have seen on so many stamped images lately, and I LOVE the look...it's super easy too!

I added some Stickles to the cupcake to make it sparkle, and Glossy Accents to the cherry to make it shiny.

I finished off the card with some buttons, punched some hearts out of corrugated paper (I love the dimension and texture this gives) and tied the bow around my sentiment since there is a bow in the sketch. I used a copic marker to trace around the word 'cupcakes' in my sentiment to make it stand out.

Well, that is it for me today. If you just came across my post I hope you'll head on over to the SOUS blog to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch.

I will also be submitting this card for Friends with Flair Friday at Unity Stamps.

If you want to play along for your chance at being featured on the SOUS blog as on of our TOP 3, link up your project here by March 19th.

Thanks for stopping by,
I love to read your kind comments
~Becky

Karate Thank You's and wind-up

Last night was Olivia's Karate wind up for the season. We had an awesome BBQ, and the students who had tested earlier in the week found out their results. After the belt presentations Shihan (Livi's teacher) gave out some special awards for Best Spirit, Most Improved, and the student with the highest test scores over the season. We were so proud of Livi for winning the Most Improved Jr. trophy!!!

I made some cards to give to Livi's Shihan and Sempai's. I colored with my Copics for the first time on this cute image of the Karate girl. I had a lot of fun and I was pretty happy with how the cards turned out. The colored bands on the right side of the card represent the colors of Karate belts.

Here is the Thank You card I made

This is a close up of my coloring...not to shabby for a first timer ;)

Copic Certification

I am so excited! This weekend I am going to be attending a Copic Certification workshop in Kelowna taught by Sherrie Siemens. Check out her blog Card Creme
I haven't really had any experience with Copic Markers yet but I am so excited to learn. Check back here to see what I have learned as I start to put the techniques into practice.
The work I see other crafters do is so beautiful I can't wait to try my hand at it. I never thought that in my 30's I'd be learning how to colour again! I hope i'm able to stay inside the lines :)
