SOUS 100th SKETCH!!!

WELCOME TO STUCK ON U SKETCHES
100th SKETCH BLOG HOP
PRIZES AND BLOG CANDY TO BE WON!!!

We are extremely excited to have you all visiting on a historic day for Stuck on U Sketches!
Today's post marks our 100th sketch!

And to celebrate in a big way we have invited our entire Design Team to join in our sketch challenge!

Here is our sketch designed by Leah Schaeffer

You should have come here from Bonnie's blog. If you got lost along the way or missed any of the stops, just head back to the SOUS blog and check the full hop listings.

Now let me show you my take on the sketch...
I chose to adapt the sketch for a card. I was inspired by the diagonal stripes in the background. I used an embossing folder to get the stripe effect and add some texture.
I created a tiny envelope as an embellishment and of course used the hearts as inspiration for embellishments! With the 'love' tag and polaroid and the I{heart}U brad, we get a sweet little love card for an Anniversary, Valentine, or just because.

Of course we just couldn't let a big day like today go without a bit of a treat for you all so we have a few wonderful sponsors for our hop!

-Our very own Lisa Norris of Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons
-Regina Easter of The Cutting Cafe
-Stephanie of Whimsical Designs: has donated 2 stamp sets!!!

Our only expectation is to be a follower of Stuck on U Sketches and leave a little love along the way for each team member (this will take some time so our hop is a week long!) We have 3 sponsors and will pick 3 winners and we'll have those to post for you on Friday, February 8th.

I have done a little shopping in my own stash and have put together this fun little prize!!!

One lucky commenter on this post will win this awesome set of 12 6x6 patterned papers! I will post the winner on my blog on February 8th so make sure you check back!!! I'd also really love it if you were a follower of my blog :)

I hope you will join us and use the sketch to inspire your own project. You can link up your project at the SOUS blog here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Now it's time for you to hop on over and see what Annette has created with this sketch.

My Creative Sketches: January Sketch

It's the 16th and that means a new Sketch Challenge at My Creative Sketches! Since I was so lucky to be asked to be a guest designer for My Creative Scrapbook this month, I used my kit on this month's sketch.

And this is the fun sketch we are playing with this time around...

I rumpled up the ribbon in the kit along the top of my patterned papers to add some dimension.

I rotated the sketch so that my title could go on the bottom. Try it! Turn a sketch around or flip it to get a unique look!

This is the amazing kit I got to play with this month. Most of the products I used on my layout come from the Carta Bella and Teresa Collins goodies in the kit.

If you would like to play along, link your layout up HERE by February 14th for a chance at an amazing prize and to be featured on the My Creative Sketches blog.

Thanks for stopping by,
~Becky

SOUS Card Sketch: Jan 16-29

It's time for a new sketch challenge at SOUS. Along with the sketch we also challenge you to use ONLY SCRAPS on your card (although this is not manditory)

Before I share the sketch with you, here is my card. I am happy to report that I was able to use only bits and pieces from my scrap folder. None of the patterns are from the same company or collection so it was really fun trying to find colors and patterns that coordinated.

And here is the fun sketch my card is based on, created by the fabulous Nanne.

I took a few close ups to show you the details...

Making Memories, Echo Park, Basic Grey, Chatterbox, and My Minds Eye papers!

Oh how I loooove this little owl!!! He and his sentiment are an Itty Bitty from Unity Stamp Co.
The scalloped circle around the owl is a Spellbinders die, and it even coordinates with a stamp set from Unity called Blossom Stackers...it's pretty awesome :)

I hope you will consider playing along with us for a chance to be in the Top 3 and to be featured on the SOUS blog. Link up your card HERE by January 29th.

Thanks for stopping by
reading your kind comments makes my day :)

My Creative Scrapbook: Jan Guest Designer

I am on the DT for My Creative Sketches, but I was excited and honored to be asked to be a guest designer in January for the My Creative Scrapbook kit team. When this gorgeous kit showed up at my door I couldn't wait to get started creating!

The January Main Kit

I have three layouts to share with you today...

On this layout I used a technique I pinned awhile back but hadn't had the chance to use yet. You might be surprised, but it is really easy to make your own chevrons! Make sure you check out the My Creative Scrapbook blog this month. I will share with you how it is done.

I loved the little chipboard stickers with the days of the week on them. They were the inspiration for this layout.

The letter stickers didn't show up as well as I would have liked on the patterned paper so I used a fine point brown marker to trace around them.

For this layout I loved the banner sticker included in the kit. It was a bit too long for the space I had on the layout, so I just trimmed off a few flags.

The 'Love you' sticker was perfect for these photos of my daughter with her new kitten...she was definitely in love.

I fussy cut the paper flowers out of one of the patterns in the kit and used dimensional adhesive to pop them up.

I'm loving these border stickers in the kit too! The look awesome, and you don't have to go dig out your edge punches.

I'm really loving how this last layout turned out. I layered a bunch of the fun chipboard elements.

The blue tag was kind of plain, so I layered the leaf sticker across it. And  I love this huge green chipboard flower.

I gave the old sewing machine a workout, I think I stitched almost everything down on all three of these layouts.

I tied a knot in the tag with the pretty sheer green ribbon included in the kit.

The flowers in the kit come with pearl centers, but I didn't really feel like they fit the style of my layout, so I pulled the pearl off carefully and saved it for another project, and I added one of the buttons from the kit to the center.

So there you have it...

If the Main Kit isn't your style, check out these other kits that are available this month...

The January Creative Kit

The January Limited Edition Kit

The January Album Kit

You can find all of the details of the monthly kits on the website HERE.

Be sure to check back as I have more goodies from this kit to share with you later on in the month.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Your kind comments make my day!
