My Creative Sketches: September Sketch

Today I get to share the September sketch from My Creative Sketches. This fun one was designed by Kim Keane.

Here is my take on the sketch...

I have to admit, this sketch freaked.me.out! Circles? What? I don't cut my photos into shapes! When I first saw the sketch I had flashbacks to the way things were done back when I started scrapbooking. Photos cut into various shapes and this was back before digital cameras so some ladies cut up their ORIGINAL PHOTOS, never to be put together again! I swore I would never cut my photos into anything but squares and rectangles, but I gave it some thought, and now that photos are digital I figured, 'what they heck'...the sketch calls for circles, so circles it is!

I added the buttons randomly around the page to look like drops of water and to fill some of the empty space in the top right corner.

I printed the largest photo as an 8x10 and used my Cricut to cut a circle large enough. For the smaller photos my Spellbinders did the trick.

Supplies used: Pattern Papers-October Afternoon, Crate Paper, American Crafts, My Minds Eye; Cardstock- American Crafts; Scalloped Edge Circle die-Spellbinders; Circle dies-Spellbinders, Large circle cutter-Cricut Machine, Scalloped edge punch-EK Success; Twine-Devine Twine; Glitter letters-American Crafts Thickers, Misc-buttons.

Well, that is it for me today. I hope you were inspired by myself and the rest of the MCS team and that you will play along for your chance to win an amazing prize!
Link your layouts up at My Creative Sketches. You have until October 14th to join the fun!

Have a great day
~Becky

  1. This is an awesome layout using the sketch. I saw a challenge that involved a shape photo and I freaked out so I feel you.
